Training in Iceland concludes for South Pole Allied Challenge
22nd March 2013 by Multimat
Walking With The Wounded has been the focus of a lot of national and international press attention in the past few days thanks to the South Pole Allied Challenge teams having travelled to Iceland to undertake some arduous and challenging training in hostile weather.
The temperatures dipped as low as -20°C which, when combined with the high-speed winds and snow storms arriving unannounced, made for incredibly inhospitable conditions.
In December 2013, three teams of wounded service personnel from The United Kingdom, The United States and the Commonwealth of Nations, all with either physical or cognitive injuries sustained in the line of duty, will set out to race to the South Pole in the largest Walking With The Wounded expedition to date.

All three teams, ('Team USA' pictured here preparing breakfast), selected Multimat sleep systems; Summit XL original foam base mats, Summit 25/38 self-inflating mats and our highly durable Tent Underlay for the expedition, and this preparatory Icelandic training.
HRH Prince Harry; Patron for both the 2011 North Pole and 2012 Mount Everest expeditions, will continue his involvement with the charity of which he is a passionate supporter.
